Format: The 30 highest ranked biathletes in the world cup ranking were qualified to start in the Mass Start event and they all started together at the same time. There were four shooting stages in the race, the first and third in a prone position and the second and fourth in a standing position. For each missed target the athlete had to ski a 150-meter penalty loop immediately after shooting.The first athlete to pass the finishing line was the Olympic gold medal winner.
