Event Format: In slopestyle freestyle skiers competed on a slope with various forms of obstacles (rails, quarterpipes and jumps). The speed from the slope allowed the skiers to perform difficult aerial tricks from the obstacles. Points were given by 5 judges. The competition format included a qualifying round and a final round, with two runs per athlete in each round. The 12 best athletes in the qualifying round were qualified to the final. The Olympic gold medal winner was the athlete with the best single result in the final. Event facts: Men's Slopestyle competition was held at the Phoenix Snow Park and 30 athletes participated in the event. |
