Event Format: In aerials skiers performed two jumps in each round and the score was the total number of points from the two jumps. Points were given by 6 judges who evaluated the skiers technique for jump takeoff, jump form and landing. The competition format included two qualifying rounds and three final rounds. In the first qualifying round the 6 athletes with the best results advanced to the final rounds. The rest of the athletes ran a second qualifying round and another 6 athletes advanced to the final rounds. 12 athletes participated in the first final round and the 8 best athletes advanced to the second final round. The 4 best athletes in the second final round were qualified to the third final round. The Olympic gold medal winner was the athlete with the best result in the third final round. Event facts: Men's Aerials competition was held at the Rosa Khutor Extreme Park and 21 athletes participated in the event. |
