Women's Ice hockey - Ice Hockey - Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics
Event Format: Women's ice hockey tournament was a competition between 8 national teams and the competition included two preliminary groups, quarterfinals, classification matches for position no. 5-8, semifinals, Bronze medal match and Gold medal match. In the two preliminary groups with four teams in each group every team played against all others in the group. The two winners of the groups advanced directly to the semifinals and the number two and three teams in the groups played two quarterfinals for the semifinals. The Olympic champions was the team winning the Gold medal match.
