Event Format: First step in the gymnastics competition was the team competition/qualifying round in which all entrants performed both compulsory and optional exercises on all apparatuses. The eight highest scoring gymnasts on each apparatus qualified to the final for the apparatus. Only two gymnasts from ane country could advance to the final. In the final the gymnasts performed an optional exercise on the apparatus. The final scoring for each gymnast was the sum of the points scored in the final and half the points scored in the qualifying round for the apparatus. Event facts: Men's Horizontal bar competition was held at the Olympic Gymnastic Hall and 89 athletes participated in the event. |
