Event Format: The competition consisted of three levels.
The first level was a pool competition in tre rounds. 16 athletes advanced to the next level.
The second level was a double elimination tournament with two rounds and repechages. 8 athletes advanced to the final level.
The third level was a single elimination tournament with quarterfinals, semifinals and finals. Event facts: Men's Sabre individual competition was held at the Olympic Fencing Gymnasium and 40 athletes participated in the event. |
