Event Format: Cross Country skiing at the Olympic Games consists of twelve events, six for women and six for men. The events are individual start, mass start, pursuit, team relay, sprint and team sprint. In the Individual start race (women's 10 km and men's 15 km) the athletes compete against the clock. The skiers start the race with an interval of 30 seconds and the winner is the skier with the fastest time at the finish line.
