Event Format: The mixed ice dancing event consisted of a short program including a compulsory dance with certain required elements and a free dance. Ice dancers should stick closely to the rhythm of the music and express the character of the music with appropriate emotion and feeling. Points for the performances were given by a number of judges. Only the 20 pairs with the best points score after the short dance were admitted to perform the free dance. The Gold Medal was won the pair with the best total score for the short program and the free program.
