The China Open is a tournament held in China, first time in 1986. Since then, the tournament has been held annually, with a few exceptions, including in the years 2020-22 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Since 2018, the tournament has been held in Changzhou on the Yangtze River Delta. All editions of the tournament have since its inception in 1986 included five disciplines, singles for women and men, doubles for women and men and mixed doubles [1]. The China Open is one of badminton's four World Tour Super 1000 tournaments. The other three are the All England, Indonesia Open and Malaysia Open. The tournaments are organized by the international badminton federation, the Badminton World Federation (BWF). The BWF was established by nine nations on 5 July 1934 under the name International Badminton Federation. The organization has since grown over the years to include over 200 member nations and continental organizations on all five continents. On 24 September 2006, the name was changed to the Badminton World Federation (BWF), and the organization is now responsible for virtually all international badminton competitions [2]. BWF is also approved by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Below is a brief overview of the top levels of BWF's extensive competition program [3]. GRADE 1 competitions:
