Event Format: Cross Country skiing at the Olympic Games consists of twelve events, six for women and six for men. The events are individual start, mass start, pursuit, team relay, sprint and team sprint. In the Team Relay races (women's 4x5 km and men's 4x10 km) all participating teams consist of four skiers and all teams start at the same time. The first two skiers use the classic technique and the last two skiers use the free technique. The team to finish first is the winner of the race.
