Nations in the Athletics World Championships

The participating countries and territories in the World Championships are governed by the national athletics federations which on behalf of the nations handle a range of tasks connected to the sport. To participate in the World Championships the national federation must be affiliated to the IAAF. The IAAF acknowledges more than 200 such national or territorial federations.
