Event Format: Cross Country skiing at the Olympic Games consists of twelve events, six for women and six for men. The events are individual start, mass start, pursuit, team relay, sprint and team sprint. The Pursuit races (women's 7,5+7,5 km and men's 15+15 km) are mass start races where the skiers use the classic technique in the first half of the race and the free technique in the second half of the race.
