Event Format: The format for the volleyball tournament will include a preliminary group stage followed by quarterfinals, semifinals and finals. In the preliminary phase the 12 participating teams are split into two pools of six in a round robin format with each team playing every other team in their group. The top four teams in each pool advance to the quarterfinals. Each match is the best of five sets.
