* Albert Demchenko RUS was sanctioned by IOC for an anti-doping rule violation according to IOC Disciplinary Commissions desicion of December 22 2017. February 1 2018 CAS stated that the sanctions against 28 Russian athletes, including Albert Demchenko, were annulled and their individual results achieved in Sochi 2014 reinstated. |
Men's Singles - Luge - Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics
Event Format: Drivers raced with high speed on a sled down an ice track through curved, high-speed turns. The luge drivers were situated on their back on the sled with their feet stretched out in front of them. The competition was held over two days and consisted of four runs for each driver - two each day. The driver with the fastest total time for the four runs was the winner of the Gold Medal. Event facts: Men's Singles competition was held at the Sanki Olympic Sliding Center and 39 athletes participated in the event. |
